| Community Public Access Defibrillators |
Most communities have limited access to Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) and to effective first aid training. We are working to correct this situation in rural villages. The community First Aid Programme was started in 2007 and involves training for local people in local settings.
There are now some villages that can boast over 30% of their community have learned first aid skills (national average under 2%). From The Community First Aid Programme we developed training for the access and use of AED’s . We work in association with The Community Heartbeat Trust to assist rural communities to set up their own defibrillator scheme. Equipment to set up the scheme is supplied at cost price. We aim to set up and maintain training in all communities who join this scheme. Click on the PDF documents below for more info on how the scheme works and info on Defibrillators or click here for a YouTube video.
