| The Facts |
Every year over 100,000 people in the UK suffer a sudden cardiac arrest. 80% of sudden cardiac arrests occur in the home. Most die because there is no immediate access to an automated external defibrillator(AED) and most people cannot perform CPR. Most could survive with a combination of good quality CPR and a nearby AED.
We are working with a number of communities in Wiltshire to advise on placement, deployment, fund raising and training for lay people to use an AED. In conjunction with our Community First Aid training we are able to offer a complete package of life saving skills for any community.
Community Public Access Defibrillators are provided by public donation and sponsorship. Some additional funding may be available from other sources such as British Heart Foundation and local grant funding bodies. There are also opportunities for local businesses to sponsor the cabinet or to sponsor training events. Contact us for an information pack.
